How much does it cost? Our courses are completely FREE!
Why is the course free? We partner with local Councils and other organisations that really care about helping people in the community to be more successful. They provide funding so we can come into the community and run our workshops for you. We then give away the workshops 100% free to you. We will not try and sell you anything else. Our sole purpose is to help you be more successful.
Do you have on-line and venue based courses? Yes PUBSA has both types of courses available for you to attend.
What will I experience on a workshop? We believe business should be fun and based around what you’re passionate about. When you come to one of our courses we will have some fun, we will challenge you to think differently and then we will get alongside you and build your business with you. We are not like most courses you might have been on; traditionally they teach you theory and let you go off and do it yourselves. We will actually build your website with you in the workshop, help you start your business and quite often people have made their first sale before they even finish the course.
What do I need to bring to a workshop? There are only two practical things that you will need:
You need to bring an open mind! Your mind is like a tap. It doesn’t work if it’s closed. We have a completely different approach to business that gets different results as well.
Pen and paper. We cover a lot of ground. People who make notes or draw pictures to remind themselves of what we cover get the most out of the PopUp Business School. It helps keep your learning fresh and we absolutely guarantee you’ll have lots of ideas that you won’t want to forget!
For the web and SEO days - a laptop, tablet or smartphone if you have one. If you haven’t got one of your own, can you borrow one? Let us know if this is a problem.
Do I need a business idea? No you don’t need a business idea. People generally come along with an idea but what we have found is that idea shifts during our workshops anyway. Many also come with an existing business. All you need is a desire to make something happen and learn something new. We will show you ways to make money out of what you enjoy doing and probably cause you to have the odd idea or two!
How long is it? Our course are usually 10 days long. We also run 5 and 7 day courses. For full details check our events page.
What if I can’t make every day? We understand that you have other things going on in your lives and sometimes families and things get in the way. The only thing we ask is that you come along to Day 1 of any event. Day 1 sets up everything we are going to do for the rest of the event. Day 1 is a critical element which gives you the latest business start-up strategies, teaches you different ways of doing business and how to make money.
After Day 1 then if you need to drop in and drop out then you are welcome but we recommend you come to as many as you can. We’re not here for long and we don’t want you to miss out.
The more you get involved and spend time with us the more you will get out of the course.
Do I need food? Normally we do not provide food on the courses. Check the local area to see if there is somewhere you can buy lunch or do what we do and bring your own with you (cheaper and often tastier!). If it is one of our on-line courses, then hopefully your fridge or pantry is only a few steps away when we have breaks.
What if I already run a business? A number of attendees on every course already run a business themselves. We have found that the course gives business owners a completely different way to look at their businesses and teaches them the key skills they need to get more customers, increase revenue and make more profit. If you already run a business but don’t feel like it is performing quite the way you would like it to, or notice that there are gaps that might add value to your business, then come along.
What should I wear? Our course is very casual, you won’t catch Tony or the team suiting up very often. When they are on the course generally they wear jeans and t-shirts. Please come along dressed comfortably and relaxed how you would like to. Business is not all about a suit or heels!
